Discover the Medical Marijuana Resource Centre

MMRC is a resource centre, information hub and developing community for medical cannabis (medical marijuana).

We link patients who need medical cannabis with specialist doctors who can offer a prescription. At present, most prescriptions come from private medical cannabis clinics in the UK. But, since November 2018, more NHS doctors are becoming involved.

FAQs

How do I get a prescription for medical marijuana?

Currently very few people in the UK are likely to get a prescription for medical cannabis. MMRC is committed to help change this.

At present, it is only likely to be prescribed for the following conditions:

  • children and adults with rare, severe forms of epilepsy
  • adults with vomiting or nausea caused by chemotherapy

And it would only be considered when other treatments weren’t suitable or hadn’t helped.
